GO WEST is an annual event that focuses on education, innovation and networking. The latest ideas are presented in support of the events industry to enhance attendees’ knowledge and network. 

GO WEST is a national event that is held in Western Canada. It reaches meeting and event planners working independently as third-party contractors, as well as in-house planners in the government, association, university and corporate markets. This event is also for event professionals working with suppliers, associations, DMOs, and other organizations supporting the events industry.

Bursaries

Tourism Saskatoon has partnered with the Event Professionals Foundation to offer 5 bursaries to planners to help offset the costs of attending GO WEST 2018.  To qualify planners must manage a conference that travels and can provide future consideration of Saskatoon as a potential host city. These bursaries will include an evening dinner on Feb 12 with the Tourism Saskatoon team.

Note: Planner Bursaries were awarded to eligible applicants.

We are including a tradeshow component to GO WEST 2018. This is an opportunity for DMOs, hotels and venues, audio visual companies, design and décor companies, and other event industry suppliers to showcase their brand and services to 200+ event professionals.

There are 40 exhibit booth spaces available. We recommend exhibitors incorporate an experiential element into their booth design. This can be as simple as serving Gelato samples to more complex offerings such as gaming. We are more than happy to work with you to maximize your attendee experience.

The fees include pipe and drape, one table, and two chairs (power, furnishings and audio visual equipment will be available though the show services provider at an additional cost).

EXPERIENTIAL HALL (tradeshow) access is included for one booth staff. An additional exhibitor badge will be available for purchase at $100 for one additional staff member.

Exhibitor Fees do not include access to THE MAIN STAGE (conference) or THE SOCIAL EVENT. Full event access is available to exhibit booth staff for $500 per registration (max. of 2 per booth)

Exhibitors at GO WEST 2018 will be given first right of refusal and preferred rates for exhibiting at GO WEST 2019.

Advisory Council

Up until 2006 the Western Canadian chapters of Meeting Professionals International hosted an annual conference called GO WEST. This conference was well-received and traveled between Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. Due to the demand on volunteer hours the conference did not continue and was a loss for Canadian event professionals.

Building upon that legacy, we are thrilled to see GO WEST coming to fruition once again. GO WEST 2018 is being produced by the team at Timewise Event Management Inc. An Advisory Council has been formed to provide input on setting the program and direction.
